Italy rugby tours

The popularity of rugby in Italy continues to grow, and it is a fantastic destination for your rugby tour. Rugby is particularly strong in northern Italy, and the Lake Garda area is very popular with clubs in the region including Calvisano and Petrarca. Arguably the most popular of the Italian lakes, Garda is ideally situated a short drive from Verona and within reach of both Venice, Milan and Padova.

The Rugby Package

Rugby tours and rugby tournaments to Italy are always popular with our tour groups. There are a number of clubs in the region keen to welcome touring teams for friendly matches. Of the well known clubs here, both Calvisano and Padova have played in the major European competitions.

Please ask for further details if you are interested in a tournament option, while friendly matches for senior and youth rugby teams are all possible in Italy.

Excursions & Visits

With so much to do in the region for both children and adults you will be spoilt for choice. Excursions include the popular Gardaland theme park; Caneva water park; Verona & Venice – two of Italy’s most spectacular cities; golf; San Siro Stadium visit in Milan; the old medieval castle at Sirmione; and the picturesque towns of Lazise and Riva del Garda.

Travel

Garda is approximately 17 hours by coach from Calais and 1-2 hours transfer by coach from Italian airports including Milan, Bergamo, Verona and Brescia.

Lake Garda

Garda Village is situated on the southern tip of the lake, close to the popular resorts of Desenzano and Sirmione with direct and private access to the lake itself. The accommodation here is suitable for family-oriented parties and school groups only. Groups stay at Garda Village in mobile home units sleeping 4 or 5 persons, all of which include kitchen corner and bathroom with shower. Breakfast and dinner are taken at the main restaurant.

Alternative accommodations are available in the region with hotel options available in Desenzano and Bussolengo.
