Visible on a clear day from England, the Côte d’Opale is known for its stunning cliffs and beautiful landscape, as well as its market towns and ports, and chic seaside resorts. We feature a selection of destinations along the coast, including Le Touquet, Calais and Gravelines each of which will provide an ideal base to visit various attractions in the region.

Educational Visits

With so many varied and interesting educational and cultural possibilities in the region, we will build a tailor-made tour programme and itinerary to meet with your requirements and priorities. We can organise opportunities to develop French language skills and to improve historical and artistic awareness to suit your group. Enjoy a trip to a local Boulangerie, and learn how they make the bread; visit a Chocolaterie and see them hand-make the chocolates. A visit to a local produce market is also a fascinating and popular option.

Of historical interest, the Agincourt Medieval Centre gives a captivating insight into the famous battle. World War II sites can be visited at Dunkerque, the war museums at Calais and Ambleteuse, and La Coupole underground Nazi bunker. The World War I battlefields at the Somme are also within reach.

Excursions

The historic old towns of Boulogne, St Omer and Montreuil are interesting trips, and visits to Nausicaa aquarium, Aqualud water park and Bagatelle amusement park are also popular with school groups.

Accommodation

  • Centre European de Sejour Calais

    This comfortable centre is used to welcoming school groups and sports teams and offers an excellent base for your tour. Ideally suited to youth groups in a safe and secure environment, they provide twin room accommodation, a games room, and large reception area just a short walk from the beach.

  • Hippotel Le Touquet

    The Hippotel is set in a forested area on the outskirts of the fashionable resort of Le Touquet. The apartment style accommodation also includes a restaurant, games area with pool table, video games, table football & pinball machines, and satellite TV with some English channels.

  • Sportica Gravelines

    Sportica is a great venue for school groups with loads of sport and leisure facilities on site. There’s an indoor swimming pool with giant slide, roller-skating hall, table tennis, ten pin bowling and tennis courts. There are two accommodation buildings. You can choose either the simple hostel-style dorms or upgrade to twin en-suite rooms if you prefer. Either way your meals can be taken in the excellent self-service restaurant here.
