Argentina represents an incredible destination for school hockey teams with the option to extend your tour for an amazing Latin America experience to include Chile or Uruguay too. An strong hockey playing nation, Argentina will offer splendid competition (especially for girls teams), wonderful hospitality and an awesome sports tour adventure.

The Hockey Package

The hockey season runs from February to November making this a great summer destination for school tour groups. Competitive friendly matches can be organised to suit your age group and ability. School, university and club teams will all enjoy and benefit from the fabulous tour experience here. Your hosts will offer excellent competition, and post match hospitality will usually include drinks and a barbecue.

The Argentina Hockey Festival is held in Buenos Aires at the end of July each year and can be an excellent focal point to a tour, which can also include pre-festival warm up matches, activity sessions and a dual centre option with Rosario.

Excursions & Visits

There are so many incredible possibilities on an Argentina hockey tour or a Latin America hockey tour:

Buenos Aires is a perfect starting point. Enjoy sightseeing, stadium tour and visit a Bacigaluppo Foundation. Estancias Gaucho ranch excursion, traditional Argentine BBQ and optional Tango show.

The transfer to Rosario is about 4 hours. Enjoy a city tour and kayak on the Parana river.

Optional tour extensions can incorporate potential visits to:

the Iguazu Falls, Rio, Santiago (Chile), Montevideo (Uruguay) or Machu Picchu

Sample Itinerary

Day 1

Travel to London airport. Depart for overnight flight to Buenos Aires.

Day 2

Arrival into Buenos Aires and meet with your local representative. Hotel check in and orientation. Afternoon training session at local facility. Evening dinner.

Day 3

Breakfast. Enjoy a Buenos Aires city tour. Afternoon fixture and post-match hospitality with your hosts.

Day 4

Breakfast at hotel. Visit a Bacigaluppo Foundation. This is a social project that seeks to ensure that all children and adults with intellectual disabilities find a greater integration in society and improved quality of life through sport.

Afternoon stadium tour and museum visit at Boca Juniors. Evening dinner. Unique, traditional Argentine Tango show with optional workshop possible too!

Day 5

Breakfast. First day of the Argentina Hockey Festival.

Day 6

Breakfast. Second day of the Argentina Hockey Festival.

Day 7

Breakfast. Visit La Boca and optional stadium tour. Afternoon transfer to Rosario (c. 4 hours by bus).

Day 8

Breakfast and check out of accommodation. City tour of Rosario and visit to a Estancias Gaucho ranch. Optional BBQ. Transfer to Parana (4 hours by bus).

Day 9

Breakfast. Morning city tour in Parana. Afternoon friendly fixture and post-match hospitality.

Day 10

Breakfast. Morning kayaking along the high delta of the Parana river and visit an ecosystem with a unique biodiversity. Afternoon transfer (c. 5 hours) by bus back to Buenos Aires.

Day 11

Breakfast. Transfer to the Tigre Delta. Enjoy a scenic cruise around the swamps and meandering waterways that empty into the Rio de la Plata. Explore San Isidro and the river deltas to Tigre city. Optional visit to the Parque de la Costa theme park. Evening karaoke and farewell party.

Day 12

Breakfast and check out of accommodation. Last minute free time for souvenir shopping. Depart for Buenos Aires Ezeiza airport and overnight flight back to the UK.

Day 13

Morning arrival into London and onward journey home.

Where to stay

Argentina accommodation

You'll stay in comfortabale hotel accommodation throughout your tour such as the El Conquistador in Buenos Aires, the Dazzler hotel in Rosario and the Gran Hotel in Parana. It would be typical to enjoy billets staying your hosts after your matches as a great way to immerse yourself in local culture for a real Argentine experience!

Travel

Direct (and indirect) flights are available from London into Buenos Aires. All local transportation by executive coach - and internal flights will be included too, subject to the itinerary arrangements and the bespoke package we finalise.
