We’ve been delighted to look after a number of teams on tour this summer as pre-season preparations have taken centre stage once more.

The BVI National Team at Millfield, Somerset

With facilities second to none, Millfield School provided the perfect venue for the BVI Men’s National Team squad training camp. With the BVI FA’s commitment to developing its National Teams to much better and higher levels, Millfield School with its superb football Fields, gymnasium, swimming Pool and splendid accommodation and catering was an ideal venue. It enabled all the coaching staff to put together sessions for the 20 players attending covering fitness, technical skills, tactical awareness and match practices during the FIFA International break.

As Technical Director, Mr Dan Neville explained:

“Millfield School is a wonderful location, and the idea to come here is definitely bearing fruits. The fantastic facilities mean we can really raise our standards in excellent conditions.”

FA President, Mr Andy Bickerton, who was joined at the Camp by 1st Vice President, Mr Avanell Morton, stated that:

“The BVI FA realises that to get to where we want to be internationally, we have to use the best facilities available, we need the best resources and also the best coaching and technical staff.”

To that end Mr Chris Kiwomya led the camp along with Mr Pete Tierney and both have worked at the highest levels in the English game.

Marking the tenth anniversary of their pre-season camp in the Essex countryside and their 20th in total with Absolute Travel and Tours, David Burke, Director of Football at Hampton School remarked:

“Thank you for all the organisation of the trip. It was excellent for us and all the goals were achieved.”

With training, teambuilding and friendly matches that included games with the Colchester United Academy teams, the camp once more proved a big success and will hope to provide a launchpad for another successful season.

Borrowash Victoria U17 at Milton Abbey, Dorset

The MJPL team from Derby proved enjoyed a super week in the Dorset sunshine after tours to both Spain and Germany had been cancelled due to the challenges of Covid-19 in Europe.

With excellent fixtures against Poole Town and Champion Development, the team was also able to train in beautiful surroundings, take advantage of the leisure facilities and to enjoy an afternoon at the beach in Bournemouth.
