Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)

Visit the famous MoMA museum in Midtown Manhattan, regarded as one of the finest collections of modern and contemporary art in the world. Highlights include works by Monet, van Gogh, Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol. Self guided or specialist guided tours available.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Probably the highlight of any design visit to the Big Apple. The Met is one of the largest museums in the world so make sure you plan your visit carefully and get in touch for the latest exhibitions and to book a tour.

Guggenheim Museum

Housed in the most iconic of buildings designed by the architect Frank Lloyd Wright, the Guggenheim is a superb experience as well as housing some amazing works of art. Self-guided or specialist guided tours available.

Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum

Part of the Smithsonian Institute, the Cooper Hewitt is the only museum in the USA dedicated to historical and contemporary design, housing a considerable collection of arts focused on some 240 years of design ethic and creativity.

International Center of Photography

Located at Bowery in lower Manhattan this outstanding museum is the leading institute in the practice and development of the art of photography, and a must visit for groups studying this course.

The Frick Collection

Located on the upper east side and housing the collection of industrialist Henry Frick, featuring classic works by the likes of Vermeer, Rembrandt and Della Francesca.

The city’s third largest museum and located within a short ride from Manhattan, housing around one and a half million works it is an important visit to consider during your stay.

Whitney Museum of American Art

The leading museum of 20th century and contemporary art of the United States, the Whitney Museum of American Art offers a range of twentieth century and contemporary American art with a particular focus on works by living artists.

Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology creates exhibitions that are both entertaining and educational. The museum aims to educate and inspire with a range of diverse and innovative exhibitions.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1

Morning departure from UK. Afternoon arrival in New York. Transfer to your hotel and check in. A bit of free time before evening meal at Hard Rock Café.

Day 2

Morning visit to the Empire State Building. Enjoy amazing panoramic views of the city. Afternoon visit to The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Evening meal at Planet Hollywood.

Day 3

Enjoy a morning visit to the Guggenheim Museum. Grab some lunch and immerse yourselves in the collections at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Freshen up before an early dinner and then on to an evening Broadway show.

Day 4

Morning make your way to Battery Park to take the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island museum. Return with some free time for shopping before afternoon transfer back to the airport for overnight flight home.

Day 5

Morning arrival back in the UK.

Where to Stay

Most accommodations in New York offer a room-only basis, however, a few will include breakfast into the package which is a real bonus for groups. There are also always plenty of local restaurants at good value for money nearby. If budget is really tight the YMCAs are options, however upgrades to high quality hotels such as the Manhattan at Times Square, Ameritania and Edison are available on request.
