Gothia Cup

Gothia Cup is the world's largest, most International, and probably most famous youth football tournament. Each year around 1700 teams from 80 nations take part, playing 4500 matches on 110 pitches. Known as the World Youth Cup, the Gothia Cup has been running for nearly 50 years.

Tournament Information

The Gothia Cup is played according to FIFA's rules in applicable parts and SvFF's competition and representation regulations.

The teams are placed into groups of 4 or 5 teams, with each team playing each other, followed by play-off matches.

All tams play a minimum of 6 matches.

Excursions & Visits

A selection of excursions and activities can be added to your tour programme on request. There is a huge amount going on during the tournament and your Gothia Card will give access to many local events and attractions during your stay.

Travel

Your football tournament tour package to the Gothia Cup can either include or exclude flights, and will include return airport transfers in Sweden. You will have free use of public tournament included during the event.

Sample Itinerary

Sunday - Flight to Landvetter or Gothenburg airport. Meet and greet on arrival and transfer to your accommodation in the city. Check-in and free time at leisure. Team registration. Evening dinner is the first tournament meal.

Monday - Tournament matches start today with the famous Opening ceremony in the evening at the Ullevi stadium. Free time at leisure in the city.

Tuesday-Friday - Continuation of tournament matches, group leaders party, evening discos and free time in the city to visit the Liseberg theme park, museums and attractions.

Saturday - Tournament finals in the Ullevi stadium. Check out of accommodation and depart for return transfer to airport and flight arrangements back home. Your own journey home.

Tournament hotels

The tournament offer a number of designated hotels to suit your budget, all well located for the tournament venues. Bed & breakfast is taken at the hotel, with other meals at the tournament restaurant.

School accommodation

School classroom accommodation offers a low-cost option. Mattresses and bedding can be provided on request. Breakfast is served at the school, and other meals are taken at the tournament restaurant.
